More Black And White
You could say I’m on a black and white kick. I find that sometimes my mind locks in to a pattern and right now that involves seeing the world in black and white.
I cropped this photo of dewberry flowers differently than the color version. The vertical crop follows the flower arrangement and better focuses your attention. Removing the color also makes the white flowers pop. You almost don’t notice anything else in the photo.

I never found out what this wildflower was and now, in black and white, it’s probably harder to identify. Fortunately, you don’t have to know what species it is to enjoy it.
I think the main effect of the black and white conversion on this photo of Texas Persimmon flowers is to make the lone open white flower stand out a bit.
This ones in the “what is it” category. Any guesses?
I was attracted to the brick-like pattern, but I assure you this is completely natural. It’s the trunk of a dead tree. The bark has fallen off and this is what’s revealed.
