I live in Hays County, in the region of Central Texas known as the Hill Country. The Hill Country’s unique topography, geology, and ecosystems all contribute to a diverse wildlife and vegetation.

This site is dedicated to increasing awareness of the beauty and value of the natural areas and resources in this region. Hays County is one of the fastest growing in Texas and becoming more urbanized and developed. Many of the posts center on my activities as a Texas Master Naturalist and I use my photography to enlighten and communicate.

The site also has a News page which contains interesting nature news items.

My professional background is in electrical engineering. I have extensive experience in all phases of semiconductor product development. I have been the project leader and designer of many advanced microprocessors and network controllers.

I became a Texas Master Naturalist in 2007 and currently serve as the President of the Hays County Chapter. I served as Newsletter Editor from 2009 through 2012 and as Volunteer Projects Coordinator from 2011 through 2012.

I’m also the President of the Hill Country Photography Club and the coordinator of the club’s Naturescapes Photography Contest.
